Shipping fast without shipping a mess
Speed and quality are not opposites. They are both downstream of scope discipline.
Most projects are not slow because the engineering is slow. They are slow because the scope kept moving while the estimate did not.
The fix is boring: cut the release into things that are individually useful. If a slice is not useful alone, it is not a slice — it is a phase pretending to be one.
Automated checks earn their cost the first time they catch a regression on a Friday. Everything else is negotiable.
And write the decision down. Six weeks later nobody remembers why the tradeoff was made, and the rewrite starts.
